2013 Holiday Running Streak – Day 3

Day 3 – November 30, 2013

Last night Jeff gave me running mittens for Hanukkah! Mom always said that mittens would keep my hands warmer than gloves, and these are no exception. Today was another easy run to check off the list – Saturday is a normal running day, the wind from the last two days had died down, and Jeff joined me for the run. And new mittens! I wish they were all going to be this easy.

New Mittens!

P.S. If you haven’t noticed, I’m also taking advantage of this streak to work on my blogging skills.  I don’t think I’ll be posting every day once the long weekend ends, so enjoy it while it lasts – haha.

2013 Holiday Streak – Day 2

Day 2 – November 29, 2013

I wasn’t really expecting day 2 to be very hard, and it wasn’t…although, I probably wouldn’t have run today if I wasn’t doing the streak.  It was warmer than yesterday, but still just below freezing, and again the wind was somewhat unpleasant.  I can’t complain though, because the sun was out and the streets are still clear of any snow and ice.  And of course, having the day off goes a long way in making it easy to get a run in 🙂

Heading Out!

I’m going streaking!!!

I signed up for the 2013 Holiday Running Streak with Runner’s World.  The idea is to run at least one mile a day every day from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.  I typically don’t run more than two days in a row, so I’m not 100% sure why this sounded like such a fantastic idea, but I think it’ll be really fun 🙂  I wonder how many days I’ll get?

Day 1: November 28, 2013: Holden Road Race 5k

My first non-Buffalo Turkey Trot.  I had a great time with some great family/friends. It was 23F, “feels like 10F”.  Brrrr…  The temperature wasn’t so bad without the gusts of winds, and once we got going I warmed up pretty quickly.  I sure love a good holiday race!  And, I’m sure the 5k more than made up for the feast I had later in the day. 🙂
